Have you ever sent a return and wondered why you haven’t received an acknowledgement from the state?
It’s important to know that when you submit a return, the federal return sends first, then once you have received the acceptance acknowledgement for the federal return, you may then go to your e-Filing screen and submit the state.
When you submit the federal return, you may notice a red X under the linked column. This indicates the state is not being sent.
For Desktop users this makes keeping up on your acknowledgements all the more important, as you will not be able to submit your state e-file without the federal acceptance acknowledgement.
